MANILA--Bambam Gamalinda has found himself a new role with the Elite as new fresh talents of the squad are getting more minutes than him and the versatile forward sees no problem with that.
The two-time PBA champ played 24 minutes per game suiting up with the new franchise last season.
But in the early stages of the 2016-17 PBA Philippine Cup, Gamalinda has only played a total of 18 minutes in two victories.
“Actually, sa ngayon kasi nilagay ako ni Coach [Leo Isaac] as team captain. Siguro may nakita siya sa akin na positive. So, in terms sa minutes? Wala naman akong problema dun eh.” Gamalinda said.
His lessen playing time is due to the insertion of top draft pick Mac Belo to their lineup who already played more than 30 minutes per game in their last two outing this season and with the rise of their sophomore star player Art Dela Cruz.
When asked about his opinion, he again reinstated that his playing time is really not a problem to him as long as his team are successful and united.
"Basta isang page kami at isa rin yung goal namin," Gamalinda continued
He also said that he will just take the situation and play his role with more desire to win everytime he steps to the floor.
“Pero kung bibigyan pa rin ako ng minuto, gagawin ko pa rin ‘yung role ko,” he concluded
